Page 12

Ah, so you’ve turned to page 12. Interesting, because I don’t recall which excursions in this book give you the option of turning to page 12. In fact, upon further inspection, there are no pages in this book that direct you to page 12. And yet, here you are, reading this, which can only mean one of two things: A) you’re dumb enough to think that you’re supposed to read this book straight through like it’s The Da Vinci Code or something, or B) you know what you’re doing, and you have absolutely no respect for the rules and regulations of the Choose Your Own Excursion series.

Either way, you’re here now. Welcome to the page 12 excursion.

You wake up in an empty room with no doors or windows. The walls are blank, the floor is blank, and the ceiling is blank. The room is about the size of your tenth grade English classroom, but significantly more boring. For some reason, no matter how much time you spend in this room, you never age or get hungry or tired, ensuring that you will never die.

Unfortunately for you, this is an excursion that gives you neither the freedom of choosing what to do at the end of the page nor the closure of the phrase “your excursion ends here.” You pretty much just pace around this room forever. After a few years in the room, you realize that you probably deserve this. A few decades later, you come to the conclusion that you definitely deserve it.

Your excursion does not end here. It continues for a painfully long and uneventful eternity…
